Dave explains the house rules — quiet time, cleaning roster, kitchen rules and rubbish days. Mai must listen carefully and answer questions correctly.
Meet Mai Nguyen
Mai is a Vietnamese woman who has come to Australia to work as a meat butcher in regional Australia. She has just arrived at her new share house and needs to talk to her landlord Dave about the house rules.
The teacher plays Dave the landlord. Read each house rule aloud — slowly and clearly. The student (Mai) listens only — no reading along!
